The short version. PDFSift runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to us. The free tier is free forever. Pro is a one-time $29 payment for a permanent licence. If it does not work for you, ask for a refund within 14 days.
PDFSift ("PDFSift", "we", "us") is an independent software product operated by an individual developer. The service is provided at https://pdfsift-app.toolona.com. You can reach us at pdfsift@toolona.com for any question about these terms, your licence, or a refund.
By using the service or buying a licence, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
PDFSift is a browser-based tool for working with PDF documents: merging, splitting, rotating, extracting or removing pages, and adding page numbers. All processing happens locally on your device using code delivered to your browser. Your documents are not uploaded to any server, and we never receive or store their contents.
Because processing is local, results depend on your device's memory and browser. Very large documents may exceed what your browser can handle; the app tells you when a file exceeds the current limits.
A Pro licence is a one-time purchase. When you buy it, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to use the Pro features of PDFSift:
You may not resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute licence keys, or publish them publicly. We do not use activation servers to lock keys to hardware: the licence is a good-faith limit, not a technical enforcement mechanism.
The free tier is a complete, working tool — no watermarks, no forced sign-up, no artificial waiting. It is limited in scale: number of files per run, maximum file size, and number of exports per run. Current limits are shown in the app. We may adjust them, but we will not remove functionality you already rely on without notice on this page.
Payments are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. This means your order is concluded with Creem, and Creem handles card processing, invoicing, applicable sales taxes and VAT. We never see or store your card details.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Depending on your location, taxes may be added at checkout and shown before you pay. Your licence key is delivered by email after payment completes; keep that email — it is how you recover your key.
If PDFSift Pro does not do what you expected, write to pdfsift@toolona.com within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full, no interrogation. We may ask what went wrong so we can fix it, but a refund is not conditional on your answer. Refunds are returned through Creem to your original payment method.

Because processing is local, we have no ability to inspect your documents and no practical means to monitor use. Responsibility for the content you process is yours.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. PDF processing involves rewriting documents; always keep your original files and check the output before relying on it. Do not use PDFSift as your only copy of a document.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or business interruption arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence giving rise to the claim.
We may update these terms as the product changes; the effective date at the top of this page will change and material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. We may suspend access if you materially breach section 7 — a paid licence revoked for breach is not refunded.
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
